One of the reasons the Pokémon Trading Card Game has remained so popular over its lifespan is thanks to its ability to keep all the familiar aspects of the video games involved, without having to tone it down. You'll find it very easy to jump back into the world of Pokémon cards with these familiar faces by your side! In fact, there's no better time for veteran players too - the Pokémon company is re-releasing a set of classic vintage cards! The Celebrations is available now, and will give players a healthy bout of nostalgia. Whether you’ve just discovered the Pokémon series for the first time, rediscovered it through the latest video games, or have been a fan since Red and Blue landed on the Game Boy, now is the perfect time to take up the almost 30-year-old series’ tabletop counterpart and learn how to play the Pokémon Trading Card Game. This beginner's guide will get you started with learning how to play the Pokémon Trading Card Game, from picking up the basic rules of attacking and status effects to getting to grips with how evolutions work. It will take time of course, but the finest things in life take time to create! I personally am going to bite the bullet and pay the $450-$500 price tag and buy a couple boxes for Christmas, to one day give to my baby boy. With Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl releasing on the Nintendo Switch, the Pokémon TCG is back in the spotlight once again - if it ever left, that is. ![]() Recently I watched a video of Rudy from Alpha Investments, regardless of the sentiment towards him he made a good point and said these boxes are going to go to $1000 a box. The chain reaction is now the pokemon community sees this growth and wants to buy BB's as well creating even more demand. Right now the XY Evolution boxes are going for $450+ and those prices will continue to climb due to outside demand of investors who do not know much about Pokemon but want to diversify into collectibles. We all know how expensive base set booster boxes are (1st edition now 300k, Base set 35k, Base Set Two 25k). Every set that features the original charizard has insane BB prices. Now as outside investors store these boxes for their children, only understanding it has the original charizard, the supply is dwindling and prices are increasing. It's the sole reason this set exploded in price. ![]() The XY Evolutions Charizard normal foil is carrying this set harder than Hugh Laurie carrying the tv show House. Anyone who doesn't know much about Pokemon but is interested in investing understands the original charizard is the gold standard. ![]() Now that the Pokemon community has exploded it is the number one set to hold onto. This set is the biggest set to drop in the last five years, it's funny because at first nobody was interested in buying it and was readily available for super cheap prices. ![]()
